Selective Memory
Spending time in the South reminds me of how selective my memory is of what it is like. I’d forgotten the smell after a thunderstorm. But also that everything closes so early.

Crickets
Are the crickets at night as loud in other parts of the country as they are in the South? This time of year they are nearly deafening. But somehow soothing. The Sing-song rhythm almost slows your breathing, makes you pause.
