It amazes me when I meet moms in New York City who don’t cook. Even though there are lots of them, it doesn’t cease to confuse me. How can this be that you have offspring yet do not know how to bake a pie or put together a small dinner party for friends? What happened to you growing up? What were you doing?
It’s baffling, but true.
This is not only inexcusable in the South but well nigh impossible. I could bake cookies before I hit high school and put together a meal certainly by college. I didn’t realize there were places where this didn’t just “happen” like it did to me. I’m grateful I learned to cook, without even really trying to “learn.”
