Just a Pinch of South

For those of us who grew up in the South but have moved elsewhere, we love our roots and all they have provided. There's a lot that I've come to appreciate about the South. But let's be honest, most of us don't want to go back to "full Southern." We're happy with just a pinch here and there to add flavor to the life we live now. If you are not a Southerner, perhaps you'll come to better appreciate the little gifts the American South has given and continues to give our culture. Photos are not mine unless specified. katyfreakinsober asked: I just want to clear something up. North of Richmond is the North and South of Richmond counts as the South. I grew up in Dinwiddie Va and we are about as Southern as they come :) and I love it. I also really enjoy your blog.

I lived in Arlington, VA for several years and I pretty much agree with you! NoVa is a mixed bag, don’t you think? There are pockets that are super Southern (like parts of Alexandria or Middleburg) and then pretty much all of Fairfax county is people who’ve moved from other parts of the country.

Thanks for your response and your clarification, and thanks for reading my blog!
